(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Currently areas in Huron, Perth and Middlesex Counties are experiencing widespread power outages. Hydro One is aware of the unplanned power outage and is currently in the process of restoring power to the affected areas.
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind residents to refrain from calling 9-1-1 for updates as to when hydro will be restored at your home or business. Please keep in mind non-emergent calls placed into the 9-1-1 system tie up valuable resources that may delay officers in responding to legitimate emergencies and crimes in progress.
Motorists are also reminded to exercise caution when approaching or entering a controlled intersection when traffic lights are out. Drivers are required under the Highway Traffic Act to treat the intersection as a 4-way stop intersection.
