(SOUTH FRONTENAC, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police investigated a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Highway 15 in the City of Kingston. The collision occurred on the 25th of November in the eastbound lanes at approximately 4:45 pm.
The collision involved a westbound tractor trailer that lost two wheels. One wheel bounced over the median striking an eastbound car, landing on top of the vehicle. The tractor trailer was located and stopped by police near Gardiners Road, and the driver of the car was taken to Kingston General Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Tractor Trailer (from Oshawa) was charged with ‘Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with a Major Defect’ contrary to Section 107(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
