Weekend Update – Orillia OPP

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 112 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions and impaired drivers.

On March 19, 2016 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Orillia OPP officers were conducting speed enforcement and stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 11 north in Severn Township. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene.

Kaitlin HARDING, 23 years old of Gravenhurst, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on April 12, 2016.

On March 20, 2016 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Orillia OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Michelle Drive in the City of Orillia. Officers attended the scene and located the motor vehicle on its roof. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene.

Randy MORTLEY, 24 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on April 5, 2016.
