(ORILLIA, ON.) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 149 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, numerous motor vehicle collisions and impaired drivers.
On November 21, 2015 at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver in the parking lot at 200 Mississaga Street East in the City of Orillia. The witness stated that a female had attempted to drive her car but drove over top of a curb and got stuck. Officers located the female in the parking lot of 70 Front Street North and she was arrested.
Loree CARTER, 42 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on December 1, 2015.
On November 21, 2015 at approximately 2:35 a.m., Orillia OPP officers observed a vehicle which failed to stop at a stop sign. Officers stopped the vehicle on Atlantis Drive in the City of Orillia and the male driver was arrested.
Joash MENDOZA, 25 years old of Severn Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on December 8, 2015.
