(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 129 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions, thefts, assaults and impaired drivers.
On October 1, 2016 at approximately 2:46 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Laclie Street and Borland Avenue in the City of Orillia. Officers arrived at the scene and located a vehicle that had hit a hydro pole. After further investigation the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
Matthew JELLY, 23 years old of Severn Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on October 18, 2016.
