Weapons Charges In Elgin County

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – On the 10th of October 2016 at approximately 1:20p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Chatham Detachment were working in Elgin County on the 401 near Graham Rd. Officers were on the lookout for the big four, due to the long weekend campaign. (Distracted driving, Aggressive driving, Seatbelts use, Speeding called Operation Impact)

During a traffic stop three parties were found to be in possession of a loaded sawed off shot gun. As a result of the investigation thus far the following people are charged.

Jordan MCKNIGHT age 20 of Windsor, ON is charged with:

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition contrary to section 95(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon contrary to section 94 of the Criminal Code.

Careless use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Fail to comply with Recognizance contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

Fail to comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge contrary to section 145(5.1) of the criminal code.

Timothy PENNELL age 18 of Windsor, ON is charged with:

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition contrary to section 95(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon contrary to section 94 of the Criminal Code.

Careless use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Stephanie ROSAMOND age 19 of Windsor, ON is charged with:

Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition contrary to section 95(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon contrary to section 94 of the Criminal Code.

Careless use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

All parties were arrested without incident and appeared at St. Thomas criminal court for a bail hearing on the 11th of October 2016.
