(Lanark Highlands, Ontario) – On Monday August 31st, 2015, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by members of Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) Search Warrant which led to the arrest of 2 men of the Township of Lanark Highlands.
During the investigation the following items were seized:
Quantities of cannabis marihuana, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), and cocaine.
11 firearms (1 loaded)
Two high capacity firearm magazines
9 cannabis marihuana plants
Douglas SCHONAUER (37) of Lanark Highlands Township (ON) is charged with;
Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance under 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana
Possession of a Schedule II Substance over 30 grams –Cannabis Marihuana
Possession of a Schedule III Substance- Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
Production of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
Possession of a Prohibited Device-High Capacity Magazine
David SCHONAUER (68) of Lanark Highlands Township (ON) is charged with:
Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance under 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana
Possession of a Schedule II Substance over 30 grams –Cannabis Marihuana
Possession of a Schedule III Substance- Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
Production of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Possession of a Prohibited Device-High Capacity Magazine
Both were released from custody, and are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Perth, October 19th, 2015.
