Wayne Caldwell Reviewing North Huron’s Draft Strategic Plan

The Township of North Huron’s draft strategic plan is almost complete and ready for public comment.

Wayne Caldwell PhD from the University of Guelph has been retained to conduct an independent assessment of the draft plan and provide comments and recommendations. Dr. Caldwell will be the guest speaker at a special Council meeting on Tuesday November 13th at 7pm in North Huron’s Council Chambers. This meeting is open to the public.

In addition, public meetings have been organized in each of the three wards for the community to review the draft plan and provide input. This is a follow-up to the community consultations held last fall that included town hall meetings, roundtable discussions with key stakeholder groups, and a Citizen Survey. The details of the meetings are as follows:

Monday, November 26th – 7pm Emergency Services Training Centre, Blyth

Tuesday, November 27th – 7pm Belgrave Community Centre

Wednesday, November 28th – 7pm Knights of Columbus Centre, Wingham

The draft strategic plan will be finalized the week of November 12th and will be posted on the Township’s website. Copies will be available at the municipal office.

“We look forward to having Wayne’s recommendations and sharing the draft plan with the community for additional input,” said North Huron CAO/Clerk Gary Long. “We’re on track to have the plan in place and operational by January 1st.”
