Vodden Argues That Keeping Connie Goodall’s Job Description Secret Is The Right Thing To Do – WFP Offers To Shutdown If Vodden Correct

North Huron councillor Brock Vodden has been posting on WFP’s FB
Wall.  He was defending Gary Long’s decision of withholding the
job description of the Economic Development Department head, from
Councillor Bernie Bailey, and the public.

Councillor Brock Vodden does not think Councillors should have
access to the job descriptions of Municipal Department Heads, and
said he could not think of a reason why a member of the public would
want that information.  Vodden was certain he was correct, and
that keeping this information secret was the correct thing to do,
according to law.  WFP challenged Mr Vodden to resign if he was
wrong, and offered to shut down the Wingham Free Press if we were
wrong.  Mr. Vodden has not accepted our wager.  We suspect
he is googling like mad trying to find proof he is correct, proof he
can not find, as it does not exist.

The public has the Right to know what they are paying Municipal
employees to do.  If you ask the Chief of Police what his job
description is, I have no doubt he would be happy to share with you
what he does to serve and protect the town, he might even offer a
ride-a-long, like many forces do.  If you ask the Fire Chief
what his duties and obligations are, he would probably mention
putting out fires, making sure everyone is properly trained, making
sure the equipment is maintained in good working order, etc. etc.  He
would not say, I have to check with town hall to see if I am allowed
to tell you what a Fire Chief does.

Mr. Vodden has proven he does not know what the duties and
obligations of the Department Heads are, and does not care to
know.  Below is part of the conversation that happened on
