(Prince Edward County, ON)— On April 21, 2015 at 3:07pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment were called to a County Road 3 residence, West of Rossmore to a report of a violent break and enter.
The police investigation revealed two suspects; one armed with a weapon entered a residence. The suspects were confronted by the home owner and an altercation ensued. Both suspects then fled as one had been injured. The OPP with the assistance of the Belleville Police Service arrested the suspects in the City of Belleville a short time later.
The home owner was not injured. A male accused was treated at hospital for minor injuries.
A 26-year old woman from Belleville, ON is charged with the following:
· Breaking and Entering with Intent, contrary to Section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
· Assault with a Weapon, contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
· Mischief Not Exceeding $5000, contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of
A 36-year old man from Belleville, ON is charged with the following:
· Breaking and Entering with Intent, contrary to Section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
· Assault with a Weapon, contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
· Mischief Not Exceeding $5000, contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
· Uttering Threats, contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Both accused remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville. The Prince Edward County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate.
