(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) –This week highlights National Victims of Crime Awareness Week across Canada.
This year’s theme, “ Shaping the Future Together”, helps raise the awareness about issues facing victims of crime, the services, programs and laws in place to assist victims and their families.
In Essex County, we are fortunate to be supported by a highly professional, progressive and supportive group of individuals, many of which are volunteers, who remain at the forefront in providing tangible assistance to countless numbers of individuals.
“There is not a day that I sit at my desk where I don’t read of an event that will unquestionably change a person’s life. The immediate engagement of Victim Services of Windsor & Essex County, housed within Essex County OPP, is often the game changer, ensuring those individuals are not left to feel in isolation or unsure of how to proceed in rebuilding their lives. We will continue working collaboratively with all of our policing and community partners to ensure we shape the future together with our focus not only on a specific week in the calendar, but throughout the entire year.” says Essex County OPP Detachment Commander Glenn MILLER.
