Victim Beaten With Bricks In Trenton – Two Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Tuesday May 31st, 2016, shortly after 1:00am Quinte West OPP responded to a serious assault call that occurred in front of a west-end Trenton home. The male victim was assaulted by a male and female who were previously staying with him at his residence. The suspects assaulted the victim using bricks that were laying on the front yard. Prior to fleeing the scene the suspects threw bricks through the front door of the victim’s residence. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Arrest warrants were obtained for the two suspects.

On Sunday June 5th, 2016, at 1:30pm the male and female were arrested at the Quinte West OPP detachment. Hailey Gallant, 19, and David Peacock, 24, both of Trenton were charged with the following offences:

Assault causing bodily harm

Mischief under $5000

Both accused were released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking. They will appear in court on June 16th, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
