(LAKE HURON, ON) – On July 8th, 2011 at 8:50 am, members of the South Bruce OPP marine unit were conducting a vessel inspection on Lake Huron when a safety equipment violation was discovered. 44 year old Scott McLeish of London was charged under the Canada Shipping Act, Small Vessel Regulations for failing to carry a water tight flashlight or pyrotechnic signalling device. The South Bruce OPP is reminding vessel owners and operators to ensure they have the required safety equipment on board before they leave the dock.
