Vehicles Shot On Hwy 24 – Collisions Avoided

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated acts of mischief at various Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, July 7, 2016, police investigated three separate incidents where drivers of motor vehicles contacted police to report that unknowns had fired paint balls striking their vehicle while travelling down the roadway.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that between 10:00 p.m. and 11:40 p.m., unknowns were driving around shooting paint balls at vehicles travelling on Highway 24, East Quarter Line Road and Blueline Road. In each incident the paint balls struck the vehicle startling the drivers however they were able to safely stop their vehicle without becoming involved in a collision.

This is a very dangerous act that had the potential to cause a collision and injury to the operators of the vehicles.

Police are currently following up with information the is being received by the public however the OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
