(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in three persons being arrested and charged with various offences.
On January 24, 2014 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP were notified of a potentially impaired driver in the Fenelon Falls or Bobcaygeon area. While patrolling the area the officers observed the vehicle on Kawartha Lakes Road 8 near West Street in Fenelon Falls and subsequently stopped it.
The driver failed a roadside test and was arrested for impaired driving then transported back to the OPP detachment for further testing, the results of which were not available at this time.
Further investigation revealed that the passengers in the vehicle were both on court orders not to associate with each other.
As a result of the investigation Zachary HART, 18 years of age, of Fenelon Falls was arrested and charged with failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking and with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Also arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking was Jamie GILFILLEN, 19 years of age, of Barrie.
