(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in a small quantity of marijuana being seized and the driver being charged.
On March 26, 2014 an OPP officer conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic infraction on Highway 7 near Taylors Road, just outside of Oakwood. The officer determined that marijuana was present in the vehicle and subsequently seized 8 grams of marijuana.
As a result of the investigation the driver, Sandra THOMAS, 59 years of age, of Sunderland, was charged with possession of marijuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on April 24, 2014.
