Vehicle Stolen From Parking Lot

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Monday, March 16, 2015 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Tim Horton’s parking lot located on Hwy. 6 & 21, on the Sunset Strip, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m., the vehicle described as a brown, 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier, vehicle identification number 3G1JC5246XS816652, bearing Ontario licence plates BMCA 013, was stolen while the owner was inside the coffee shop. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were inside the ignition.

Grey County OPP remind motorists that a professional can steal your vehicle in just 30 seconds – without the key. An unlocked vehicle is an easy target. Protect your vehicle from theft:

– Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the keys.

– Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.

– Never leave your car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a Web Tip to www.crimestop-gb.org. You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
