Vehicle Stolen From Driveway

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Thursday, April 30, 2015 at approximately 5:23 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen vehicle from a Somers Street residence in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The complainant witnessed an unknown person back his vehicle, a green 1999 Toyota Corolla, bearing Ontario licence plates BTJH 563, VIN #2T1BR12EXXC772437, out of the driveway and proceed southbound on Somers Street. The keys were in the ignition and the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.

Grey County OPP remind citizens that a professional can steal your vehicle in just 30 seconds – without the key. An unlocked vehicle is an easy target. Protect your vehicle from theft:

– Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the keys.

– Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running.

– Never leave your car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area.

Anyone with information which may assist in the investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a Web Tip to www.crimestop-gb.org. You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
