(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON.) – The South Bruce OPP along with Ministry of Transportation enforcement officers conducted vehicle safety inspections to enhance roadway safety for all motorists. Vehicles for inspection were identified by South Bruce OPP members while on patrol.
On Wednesday June 15th, 2011 a vehicle inspection station was set up on Valentine Avenue in Kincardine where 36 vehicles were inspected. Licence plates were removed from 12 vehicles, another 19 vehicles received notice for required repairs and 5 vehicles were deemed safe. 9 offence notices were issued including: distracted driver using cell phone, no exhaust, no inspection report, and unsafe motor vehicle.
On Thursday June 16th, 2011 a vehicle inspection station was set up at the former MTO building on Kincardine Highway in Walkerton where 43 vehicles were inspected. Licence plates were removed from 13 vehicles, another 21 vehicles received notice for required repairs and 9 vehicles were deemed safe. 9 offence notices were issued including: vehicle over gross weight, no exhaust, no CVOR certificate, drive under suspension and surrender falsified insurance card.
The South Bruce OPP is asking all drivers to contribute to roadway safety by operating a properly maintained and safe vehicle.
