Vehicle Found Burning In Ditch

(PETROLIA, ON) – On Sunday November 22nd, 2015 at approximately 9:25 a.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Nauvoo Road and Sydenham Line, Brooke-Alvinston Township.

Lambton County OPP along with Brooke-Alvinston Fire Department and Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene as initial information received stated that the motor vehicle was on fire.

Upon arrival, OPP observed a single motor vehicle, fully engulfed in fire, in a ditch on Nauvoo Road approximately 200 meters north of Sydenham Line. It was determined shortly thereafter that there was no one with the vehicle. Lambton OPP Canine Unit was then requested and attended the scene to conduct a search for potential injured person(s) in the nearby area, however no one was located.

OPP were eventually able to locate and speak to the registered owner of the motor vehicle who was in Exeter, ON. The owner informed police that the vehicle was last seen parked in a parking lot in Ridgetown, ON.

Investigation in on-going and the Lambton OPP are asking if any person has information regarding the person(s) responsible for this collision to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 882-1011, or their nearest police authority.
