(ESSA, ON) – On Sunday August 25, 2013 at approximately 6:15 AM, officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the Essa Township Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire in the area of Scotch Line and County Road 21.
The post mortem examination of 39-year-old Herminder BHANDAL, from Brampton Ontario, who was recovered from the vehicle confirmed that he was the victim of homicide.
As a result of the joint investigation that is being conducted by members of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), under the direction of Detective Inspector Colleen McCormick and the Peel Regional Police Homicide Unit., three persons have been arrested and are facing charges of First Degree Murder.
This investigation is continuing.
