Update: Wellington Plaza Subway Robbery

On November 4, 2013, at 7:50 a.m., the Guelph Police attended the Subway restaurant located at 92 Gordon Street for a robbery call. Investigation alleges that shortly before 7:50 a.m., a male entered the business through the front door, and he demanded the employee turn over all the money from the register. The male fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was last seen entering a motor vehicle.

The police investigation led to an arrest on November 19, 2013. A 35-year-old Guelph male, was located in Oakville and arrested. He has been charged with robbery, obtain transportation by fraud and fail to comply with probation order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing appearance on November 20, 2013.
