During the early morning hours, a 26 year old Barrie man was talking to an 18 year old Barrie female outside of a townhouse complex on Kozlov Street. Another 26 year old Barrie man intervened and there was a dispute between the men. The men went their separate ways but later met again. The first male went to assault the second male with a knife. The 18 year old female grabbed the knife, trying to prevent the attack. This cut her hand. The first male continued on with the knife and pounced on the second male, stabbing him in the abdomen. The second male then retrieved his own knife from inside one of the units. He returned and stabbed the first male in the leg. Police were called, attended and investigated.
The first male was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. This male was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was discharged from the hospital and held for a bail hearing.
The second male was airlifted to a Toronto Hospital with life threatening injuries. This man is in stable condition after surgery. Charges are pending for this male upon his release from hospital.
