(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday June 23, 2010 shortly after 10 a.m., Perth County OPP officers, the North Perth Fire Department and Perth County Ambulance personnel were dispatched to a mishap at a rural residence along Perth Line 88 north, west of Listowel.
Investigation revealed that two year old Scott MARTIN was seriously injured by haying equipment in the farm yard. The child had been playing around a heavy solid steel hay bail attachment which had fallen on top of him.
The child’s father located him, called for help and commenced CPR.
The child was transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital by land ambulance but at 11:18 a.m. the child was pronounced dead. The Perth County OPP and the Coroner are continuing to investigate this incident.
