(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Effective 6:00 pm on January 29, 2014, Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting that the following roads have been cleared and are open for travel at this time :
Bruce County Road 8 open
Bruce County Road 9 open
Bruce County Road 13 open
Highway 6 from Hepworth to Wiarton open
The rest of the roads still remain closed to traffic due to blowing and drifting snow and poor road conditions, road crews are presently working to clear them for safe travel.
Bruce Peninsula OPP are monitoring the unstable weather conditions tonight and reminding motorists to still use extreme caution when travelling roads due to poor visibility, blowing and drifting snow that is still accumulating on the Bruce Peninsula.
Please do not call the local OPP Detachment or the Provincial Communications Centre in London for road/weather conditions. Dispatchers are busy answering “calls for serviceâ€Â. Do not call 9-1-1 unless you have a legitimate emergency.
