UPDATE: OPP INVESTIGATING AFTER FEMALE STRUCK BY MOTOR VEHICLE Charges Laid

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Donly Drive South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, August 12, 2013, approximately 4:45 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a 64 year old female from Norfolk County.

Through investigation it has been determined that a vehicle was travelling south bound on Donly Drive South when it failed to negotiate a turn in the roadway. The vehicle then proceeded to mount the curb and enter the west bound sidewalk, continuing to travel south bound.

The vehicle subsequently struck the female that was located on the front lawn of her residence. She was transported to the Norfolk General Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The motor vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene of the collision and continued south bound on Donly Drive South. The vehicle is being described as a grey or silver automobile with front end damage.

Through investigation, police located the vehicle involved in the collision and subsequently arrested a 25 year old male.

Charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm, Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm, Fail to Remain at Scene of Accident and G1 licence Holder unaccompanied by qualified driver is 25 year old Nicholas Quinn Paul HODGSON of Norfolk County, Ontario.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
