(ROCKLAND, ON) On September 15, 2013 Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter with violence on Raymond Street in Rockland. On that day three armed suspects entered the house, restrained and threatened the victim. The victim received minor injuries at that time.
Since the incident the Russell County Crime Unit has been working on this case and as a result one person has been charged.
Richard A. MATTATAL, 36 years old of Gatineau is being held in custody and is to appear in L’Orignal court on January 27, 2014 to answer to the following charges:
CC 334(a) Theft Over $5000
CC 430(3) Mischief Over $5,000
CC 95(a) Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition
CC 279(2) Forcible Confinement
CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
CC 87 Pointing a Firearm
CC 85(1)(a) Firearm – Use while committing offence
CC 266 Assault
CC 267(a) Assault with A Weapon
