The Chatham-Kent police have completed their motor vehicle collision investigation.
As previously released, on August 18, 2013 shortly after 1:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Goodreau Line in Romney Township. The 19-year-old driver from Lighthouse Cove, called 911 to request medical assistance as she not only was she injured, but also all four of her passengers. The passengers ranged in age from 18-22 and were all Tilbury residents. Three occupants were transported to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor while the other two were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. All have since been released. Investigation revealed that the driver was travelling eastbound on Goodreau Line when she lost control of her Ford F-150 truck. The truck left the roadway and travelled through a ditch causing approximately $5000 damage to the vehicle.
Yesterday afternoon, police arrested and charged the driver with:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Dangerous operation causing bodily harm (2 counts)
Novice driver contravene a condition or restriction prescribed by Regulation
Young driver – BAC above 0
She was released with conditions pending a future court date of January 29, 2013.
