(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service continues to investigate a sexual assault that occurred in the Heron Park area on Monday evening.
Additional resources have been added to the investigative effort aimed at identifying and arresting the person responsible, said Staff Sgt. Angela McDade.
“With all investigations we have ongoing, including discussions between investigators to consider potential linkages, it is too early in our ongoing investigation to draw conclusions,†said Staff Sgt. McDade. “Each case must be individually investigated to its fullest in order to determine commonalities.â€Â
There are currently several unsolved sexual assaults that Ottawa Police are investigating. In two of those cases — one in the Greenbank area and one in Lancaster Road area — Ottawa Police has yielded information that indicates the assaults were committed by the same male suspect. Those cases were highlighted in a release by police in September that included a composite drawing.
