(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On January 24th, 2014, shortly before 9:00 pm, members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Clearview Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 26, just south of 27/28 Side Road of Nottawasaga involving two motor vehicles.
A preliminary investigation by members of the Huronia West OPP and the Central Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (T.T.C.I.) Unit revealed that a southbound Audi had attempted to pass a tractor trailer unit, and while doing so, the driver lost control and entered the northbound lane colliding with a north bound Volkswagen.
Deceased is Stanislaw W. KREMIS 43 years old from Etobicoke, Ontario the driver of the Audi and Raphael J. CHANG 42 years old from Toronto, Ontario a passenger in the Audi.
The Driver of the Volkswagen a 31 year old male and a passenger a 31 year old male both from Toronto, Ontario were both transported to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries. A second passenger also a 31 year old male from Toronto was transported to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital with serious injuries.
A second passenger from the Audi a 26 year old male from Whitby, Ontario was transported to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital with serious injuries.
The Investigation into this tragic fatal collision is ongoing.
