(South Huron, ON) – The driver who died in last night’s collision has been identified as Ronald DESJARDINE (74) of Bosanquet. The investigation remains ongoing into the cause of the collision. A post mortem is scheduled to be completed on June 10th.

(South Huron, ON) – Huron OPP officers are currently on scene of a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:00 pm on June 9th. The crash occurred on Bluewater Highway north of Grand Bend. The involved vehicle was travelling northbound. The driver was passing another northbound vehicle when he began to drift onto the west shoulder and then into the ditch. The vehicle struck a tree and came to rest at the Oakwood Golf Course.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene however his name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
OPP Technical Collision investigators are on scene and the roadway will remain closed for several hours. Further information will be provided when it becomes available.
