On July 3, 2013 around 10:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to a head on collision involving two vehicles on Queens Line, just east of the Highway 401 exit.
A man was travelling eastbound in a minivan when he crossed the center line and struck a Chatham-Kent Medavie EMS ambulance travelling westbound. Two on-duty paramedics, a 36-year-old Chatham woman and 46-year-old Chatham man were on board. No patients were on-board the ambulance at the time. The female driver of the ambulance was transported to Hotel Dieu in Windsor with serious lower body injuries.
Yesterday, Logan Simpson, 25 years, of Pulley Road in Wheatley was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He was released pending a future court date.
