UPDATE: COLLISION ON MEDWAY ROAD INJURES FEMALE – Driver charged

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On Friday August 9, 2013 at 1:40 p.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), fire and paramedics responded to a two vehicle collision on Medway Road between Adelaide Road and Highbury Avenue in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.

A Volkswagen Jetta was westbound on Medway Road when it crossed the centre line and collided head on with an eastbound Jeep. The driver of the Jetta suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle whereas the driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were lone occupants and were transported to hospital by ambulance.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Alyssa YANDT, 20 years old of Hillsburgh, ON with careless driving as per section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
