(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On March 21, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Wellington Road 8, west of Sideroad 18, near Drayton.
A 6-year-old girl suffered moderate, non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a sedan. The child was crossing the highway after exiting off a school bus. Mapleton Fire/Rescue along with Guelph Wellington Paramedics Service attended.
The bus driver, a 61-year-old male from the Township of Mapleton has been charged with Fail to Actuate School Bus Signals contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and was issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
