(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) – On July 24, 2015 shortly before 12:30 p.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an unconscious male at the Larder Lake beach.
Investigation indicates that a 32-year-old man went for an afternoon swim and for reasons unknown at this time, he didn’t safely return to shore. Robert CONANT of Sarnia was located in the water and transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
The Temiskaming District Ambulance Service and the Larder Lake Fire Department attended the scene to assist.
This investigation is ongoing, no foul play is suspected at this time. A post mortem is scheduled to be completed.
