On 17 March 2016 at approximately 3:44pm Owen Sound Emergency Services; Fire, Police and EMS were dispatched to the 800 block of 11th Avenue East regarding a possible house fire. Upon arrival Owen Sound Fire was able to quickly extinguish a small blaze in the basement of the residence. The lone occupant at the time was able to escape without injury. An unattended candle appears to be the cause of the fire which resulted in minimal damage.
