On Wednesday April 1,2015 at 8:09 am, emergency services responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway #7 and Trussler Road in Wilmot Township. A 46 year old Waterloo resident was driving her white 2014 Mazda motor vehicle southbound on Trussler Road in Wilmot Township when a white Dodge Caravan operated by a 76 year old Kitchener resident pulled out from the Highway #7 off-ramp into her path.
Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Branch was called in to investigate the collision. As a result of their investigation the male was charged with Start from Stopped Position -not in Safety and the female driver was charged with Careless Driving. Excessive speed by the Mazda driver is being considered a factor. Both vehicles were demolished.
