(Bancroft, Ontario) – At approximately 2:52 p.m. on Saturday the 20th of September 2014, officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Bancroft Fire Department and Hastings County Ambulance services responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 62 in the Town of Bancroft.
Officers attended the location and determined that a Ford Car and a group of motorcycles were travelling south on Highway 62. The driver of the Ford car pulled out to pass and while passing, struck a Yamaha motorcycle, causing the driver of the motorcycle to be ejected.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 55 year old male of Centre Hastings was transported by ambulance to hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the Ford car, a 46 year old male of Bancroft was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
Investigation into the collision is ongoing with the assistance of an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator. The names of the involved persons are not being released as the investigation in ongoing.
