Two Truck Operator Struck At Collision Scene – Life Threatening Injuries

(Ottawa, ON) – August 26, 2015, The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 417 eastbound near the Palladium Road overpass.

At approximately 4:40 pm, officers attended a two vehicle collision. A tow truck operator responded to the scene and was assisting with the removal of one of the involved vehicles. A passing vehicle subsequently struck the tow truck operator and one of the vehicles involved in the initial collision.

The 45 year old male tow truck operator was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Three others were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Lane reductions have been put in place.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are at the scene assisting with the investigation.
