Two Racers Caught Risking The Public’s Safety

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped 2 separate vehicles at 2 separate locations on Highway #403 in the County of Brant March 17, 2016.

OPP officers stopped the first vehicle a black 2005 Chevrolet Equinox on Highway #403 east bound at approximately 2:00 a.m. for travelling 160 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. The female vehicle driver was 33 year-old Tamara AEDO-CASTILLO of Toronto.

OPP officers stopped the second vehicle a green 2007 Lexus RX350 on Highway #403 east bound at approximately 11:00 p.m. for travelling 162 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. The male vehicle driver was 30 year-old Chan DAHN of Hamilton.

Police have charged both drivers with stunt driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Both vehicles have been impounded for seven days and both drivers have an automatic seven day driving suspension.

They will both appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, Ontario at a later date to answer to their charges, if convicted for Stunt Driving the minimum fine is $2,000.

Aggressive driving is one of the “Big Four” driving behaviours that contribute to road fatalities in Ontario and that the OPP targets as part of its Provincial Traffic Safety Program (PTSP), in their efforts to save lives.
