TWO PEOPLE INJURED IN COLLISION

(Prince Edward County, ON)—On August 01 2014, at 5:15pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment with the assistance of the Prince Edward County Fire Department and Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 18 near Outlet Road, in the Ward of Athol.

The police investigation revealed that a motorcycle travelling North bound on County Road 18 had entered the South bound lane colliding with a camper trailer being towed by a pick-up truck.

Both motorcycle occupants were transported to hospital. The male motorcycle operator sustained life threatening injuries, while the passenger, a 40-year old Picton woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.

On October 17, 2014 OPP charged the motorcycle operator, 43-year old male, Roy LAMONT of Quinte West, ON with Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act and Drive Left of Centre-On a Curve, contrary to Section 149(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on November 14, 2014.
