(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two traffic complaints over the weekend that resulted in criminal charges.
The first complaint was received of a possible impaired driver on Friday August 5, 2016 at approximately 11:50pm. The vehicle was located on Market Street in Fenelon Falls and an investigation commenced. The driver, 21 year old Nicole MUNRO of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC). The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 1, 2016.
A second complaint was received of a possible impaired driver on Sunday August 7, 2016 at approximately 3:30pm. The vehicle was located on Eldon Road in Oakwood and an investigation commenced. The driver, 45 year old Rafal OLEKSIAK of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) CCC
Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) CCC.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 1, 2016.
