(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two adult male drivers with impaired driving offences on November 26, 2016.
Members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police, (OPP) were advised of a traffic complainant in the westend of Fort Frances on Saturday morning. Officers located the motor vehicle on the 900 Block of Kings Highway 11. Jules GIBBONS, (33) of Big Grassy First Nation, On was arrested at the scene after failing the Roadside test and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests.
Subsequently the driver was charged with,
-Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
And while conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere, (R.I.D.E), in the evening, on the 1200 Block of Colonization Road East in Fort Frances, Mark JUPIN, (43) of Stratford, On failed a Roadside test and was also arrested at the scene and transported to the Fort Frances Detachment for tests.
Subsequently JUPIN was charged with
-Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
In both instances the vehicles were impounded for a minimum of 7 days and both men issued a mandatory 90 day drivers licence suspension. Both men are scheduled to appear in Fort Frances Court at a later date.
The OPP reminds motorists that operating a vehicle under the influence of any amount of alcohol is dangerous and jeopardizes your own safety as well as the safety of others.
