(NAPANEE, ON) – On March 6th, 2017 officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were patrolling Highway 401 east bound near Wymans Road in Quinte West. Officers observed a black GMC Sierra travelling at 142km/h in a posted 100km/h zone. The vehicle was weaving on the road. A traffic stop was conducted.
The driver Brandon LUND a 28 year old male from Hampton ON was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and transported to the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP where breath tests were completed.
The driver was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Having Over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood and speeding. The driver was released on a Promise to Appear with a first court appearance on Tuesday March 21st, 2017 at Napanee Court.
ASSAULT
(NAPANEE, ON) Quinte Regional Detention Centre (QRDC) – On Friday March 3rd, 2017 at 12:30pm officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the jail as an inmate had been stabbed and transported to hospital.
The assault occurred inside the jail where Hedrick RYSCAMP a 29 year old male from Deseronto and Gordon DRYSDALE a 37 year old male from Napanee attacked a male victim related to an incident that occurred prior to the three males being incarcerated at QRDC.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later returned to QRDC.
The two accused have been charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm and were held for a bail hearing at Napanee Court.
IMPAIRED
(TYENDINAGA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On the 4th of March, 2017 at 9:50pm, officers from the Tyendinaga Police Service responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on Bayshore Road at Highway 49 involving two vehicles. The involved vehicles were heavily damaged and an elderly driver was transported to the local hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Amy WHALEN a 38 year old female from Belleville was arrested after registering a fail on a Roadside Screening Device. The accused was transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Breath tests were completed at the hospital and the driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle having in excess of 80mg of alcohol in less than 100ml of blood and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance date of March 23rd, 2017 in Belleville Court.
