Two More Children Left In Hot Car – CAS Contacted

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident after being called to a Donly Drive South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at approximately 2:18 p.m., police were contacted by concerned members of the public after noticing a vehicle in the parking lot of the Roulston’s Pharmacy.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that an infant and a 4-year-old child were left unattended inside a motor vehicle.

The vehicle left prior to police arrival however officers located the vehicle and spoke to the parent and children, who appeared to be in good health. As a result, Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand-Norfolk was contacted.

The OPP is reminding all parents and caregivers to never leave their children unattended in motor vehicles.

“The OPP want to remind all parents or caregivers that at no time during the year should any child be left alone in a vehicle, no matter how quickly you think that errand will be. Leaving a child unattended in a vehicle goes beyond the weather conditions and the safety and well-being of a child should always be the top priority,” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
