(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two males recently after they were observed going into cars in Collingwood.
On the 22nd of July 2014 at approximately 3:40am, officers were dispatched to the Katherine Street area after a resident observed two males going into cars. Officers obtained a description of the suspects and conducted patrols which led to the male being located a short time later on Hurontario Street near Hamilton Street. Investigation found that the males were, in fact, the suspects observed on Katherine Street. Nothing was stolen in the incident.
Charged are 18 year-old Denis MATIAS and 18 year-old Simon WINLO, both of Collingwood. They each face a Criminal Code charge of mischief under $5000 and a Liquor License Act charge of person under 19 years of age consuming liquor. They will appear in Collingwood court for the criminal offfence on the 26th of August 2014.
