(DRYDEN, ON) – On Thursday December 3, 2015 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Northwest Canine Unit conducted traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in Machin Township where they stopped a blue Dodge minivan for a traffic violation.
Upon investigation a large amount of Marihuana, Hashish and a Marihuana derivative substance was located within the vehicle. The driver Mark LUCAS (29yrs old) and passenger Devon ADAIR-SIMPSON (29yrs old) both of Kitchener Ontario have both been charged with:
1) Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Marihuana) over 3 kilograms contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled drugs and substance Act
2) Trafficking in a controlled substance (Marihuana) over 3 kilograms contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and substance Act
3) Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Hashish) under 3 Kilograms contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled drugs and substance act
4) Trafficking in a controlled substance (Hashish) under 3 Kilograms contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and substance Act
5) Possession for the purpose of trafficking (marihuana derivative) under 3 Kilograms contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and substance act
6) Trafficking in a controlled substance (marihuana derivative) under 3 Kilograms contrary to section 5(2) of the controlled drugs and substance act.
Estimated value is approximately 40,000 dollars. Both parties have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sioux Lookout Ontario.
