Two Killed In Motorcycle Collision On Hwy 6

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldiamnd County Detachment is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist at a Highway 6, Jarvis, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Saturday, May 21, 2016 at approximately 2:44 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, Hadlimand County Paramedics, and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.

Through the course of investigation, it has determined that a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Highway 6 when it collided with a motor vehicle that was travelling westbound on Regional Road 70 at the intersection.

As a result of the collision, the female driver of the motorcycle, a 46-year-old of Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation and female passenger, a 49-year-old of Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, were ejected and suffered life threatening injuries. Both were taken to local area hospitals where they were pronounced deceased by the attending physicians.

The female driver of the motor vehicle, a 68-year-old of Hamilton, Ontario suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local area hospital for treatment.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Identity of the deceased’s is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Highway 6 is closed between Concession 6 of Walpole and Concession 5 of Woodhouse. Regional Road 70 is closed between Concession 5 of Walpole and Concession 6 of Woodhouse.

The roadway will be closed for the next two hours to allow for police investigation.
