(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 65-year-old female driver after investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred at a Haldimand Road 17, Cayuga, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Monday February 20, 2017 at 12:31 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Haldimand Road 17 near Windecker Road for a single vehicle collision where it was reported that the vehicle had collided with the ditch.
The female driver and male passenger were extricated from the vehicle by Haldimand County Fire Services and transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Haldimand County paramedics.
OPP investigation has determined that the vehicle was travelling east bound on Haldimand Road 17 when the driver failed to negotiate a turn and left the roadway colliding with a culvert on the north side of the road before going airborne and colliding with the ditch.
OPP has charged 65-year-old Louise McColeman of Brantford, Ontario with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
