Two Impaired Drivers Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 16th, 2015, at approximately 10:20pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol in the Downtown area of Trenton when they observed a motor vehicle that was being operated in an erratic manner.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Trenton Street. After an investigation it was determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Craig SMITH, 34 years old, of Colborne has been charged with:

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville October 29th, 2015.

R.I.D.E. LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER BEING CHARGED

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 18th, 2015, officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were doing R.I.D.E. checks on Dundas St East, Trenton.

At approximately 12:25am officers stopped a motor vehicle being driven by a 21 year old male from Brighton. After a speaking to the driver it was determined that the male’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Justin GREEN, 21 years old of Brighton has, been charged with:

· Care and Control While Impaired by Alcohol, Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

· Care and Control Over 80mgs, Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

· Fail to Comply with court order x two.

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on November the 5th, 2015.
